Why this matters

Why bother?

Mild dehydration (just 1-2%) impairs focus, mood, and energy more than people realize. Most "afternoon slumps" are partly thirst.

How often

Roughly 2-2.5L per day for most adults, more if you're active or it's hot.

Best time: Front-load: 1 glass on waking, 1 before each meal. Stop heavy intake 2 hours before bed so you don't wake up to pee.
